In, Out, All About

Following the first design for Travertini Paradiso titled “This Way, That Way” in 2011, Copeland designed - through selective modifications - “In, Out, All About.”

While “This Way, That Way” showcased colorful varieties of travertines through bold geometric forms – mostly skewed parallelograms - together suggesting energized swaying back and forth; “In, Out, All About” evolved as a variation – with incorporations of arced parallelograms - suggesting bellowing ins and outs of movements in stone.

Baroque, concave and convex compositions are formed in both low relief and full in-the-round figure, determining architectural texture and integrated furnishings.

The intent of the collective design was to engage the imagination with an enriched stone fabric created out of a few playful forms – arcs and parallelograms – using the travertine in carefully scaled and articulated ways to define an enjoyable gathering place.
